Attention to detail

At our Sapporo location, we use carefully selected ingredients that are nutritious and good for the body.

Ingredients

The Sapporo shop’s dough is made from pesticide-free flour grown in Tokachi.
Eggs are not used, but instead kinako (soybean flour) and bran are added.
The kinako (soybean flour) is a fine, custom-made kinako (soybean flour) made from Tokachi soybeans.
The sugar is Hokkaido sugar with a mild sweetness, flavour and richness, and contains natural oligosaccharides and minerals.
The sweet adzuki-bean paste is also 100% Tokachi-produced. The sweet sweet red bean paste is carefully made using traditional methods, resulting in a delicious tsubu-an with a very soft azuki bean paste skin.
Furthermore, the oil is Hokkaido rice oil. The crispy outside and glutinous inside are cooked with a strong gas flame, which spreads a savoury smell.

We stick to the ingredients to the last detail. Hot and hot! Crispy!

Beverages

Coffee

We use carefully selected coffee beans by the owner of Taiyaki Kobo Sapporo, who also operates a cafe. The staff has repeatedly tasted and refined the coffee to complement the deliciousness of the taiyaki. This is a full-bodied coffee with a slightly bitter taste. Of course, you can also order just coffee. If you purchase it as a set with taiyaki, you can get a better deal.

Soba tea (decaffeinated)

We use Hokkaido Tartary buckwheat tea called Manten Kirari, which is rich in rutin (a type of polyphenol) compared to ordinary soba tea. It has a great aroma and goes well with taiyaki. Please note that soba tea is only available during the winter season.

Manager’s recommendation! Enjoying delicious taiyaki at home

It has cooled down by the time you bring it home. Even in such cases, don’t worry. Put the taiyaki on a plate and cover it with plastic wrap. Heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds, and then leave it as it is in the toaster oven or frying pan for 1 minute. This will create a crispy and delicious taiyaki. Be careful not to burn the taiyaki.

Vegan friendly options

Our anko (sweet red bean paste) and plain taiyaki use organically grown wheat from Hokkaido. We use organic fertilizer for pesticide-free cultivation and do not use any animal products in the dough. We also use rice oil, which makes the taiyaki crispy. As we do not use eggs, our taiyaki is suitable for vegans.
